Hello, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Todd Nagel and I am the founder of Administration Station. I will try to give you a feel for our company on this page, I hope this helps.
I started my career as a web designer, like most webmasters, building sites for free. In order to present yourself to the world, you need a showcase. And they have to be live. And good.
It started out nicely, but over time, the 'free' clients began to actually get better, and began to actually use the websites like they are meant to be used, and the demands on my time began to grow. So, as a solution for this, we began to build custom administration control panels into each website that allowed the clients to login and modify the contents of the site themselves, and that was it. We now found ourselves with alot of free time, that was being wasted before updating the sites, especially when alot of the updates were copied from emails from the client, which they now are able to just enter directly into the website.
So we began to simply get better. The more time spent studying, of course, meant less time working for actual money, which makes the whole 'life' thing a bit dificult, and so, we began to offer our services to the real world, with honest price tags included.
NetRanchers.COM, our sister site, actually went live before the new AdministrationStation.COM site went live. Net Ranchers provides the same thing we do here at Administration Station, except is more geared towards 'pedigree' driven websites, like Longhorn Cattle. Our first site was an easy sell, the client was paying more then we charged, and then they had to pay each time they wanted an update, and for Cattle Ranchers, updates were needed quite often. And we made the site a little better as well.
It's always been our opinion that any webmaster can really do the same thing as another webmaster, they just have to learn how first. But how do you seperate the good guys from the bad guys? Our websites our designed with the assistance of our clients, so when it's done, it's the way they wanted it. If you don't like your website, well, it's your fault. It's your job to like it, and not accept anything less.
If you have a website, or are looking for a website, we recommend that you shop on the basis of price. Start-up costs, Hosting costs, and Update costs are the main things to look for, and so far, we can't be beat. Our setup fees can vary from site to site, and our monthly hosting & maintenance fee averages at less then $1 per day, and we don't start monthly billing until the site is complete. The amount of time required to build the site is up to you, we can have a site live in one day if it's simple, some sites take much longer, it all depends on what you want.
It's really quite simple. We design the site the way you want it, and you use it. If you decide you want to add a new feature or more pages to your site, we do it for free, it's not that hard once the site is already running. If something is wrong with the site, tell us and we fix it.
Our goal is to simply not overcharge people. Some people think we undercharge people, but we say were just getting ready for the future. We say everyone else overcharges. What do you think?
